Our TailWaggers Story
Our TailWaggers journey started in 2008 when I brought home Denali, my energetic Samoyed puppy. Even after years of training other dogs, Denali proved I still had plenty to learn! After one too many wild puppy moments, I tried something I once laughed at — doggy daycare.
To my surprise, Denali passed his evaluation at TailWaggers and absolutely flourished. He learned, played, socialized, and came home happy and tired. By eight months old, he even earned his Canine Good Citizen certificate.
While Denali fell in love with TailWaggers, I fell in love with the people — kind, knowledgeable staff who truly cared. I always felt at ease leaving him for the day or even for vacations.
When we moved to Cincinnati in 2014, I couldn’t find anything close to the clean, safe, friendly environment TailWaggers provided. After Derrick visited a TailWaggers location in Wisconsin, he finally understood that special “everyone knows your name” feeling — and together we decided Cincinnati needed one too.
Today, we are proud to be the 8th TailWaggers location, and the first outside Wisconsin. Our story began with one wild puppy… and became a place where every dog feels at home.
